Good question. Caniac 15.03.2013 20:12 QUOTE(Caniac @ 15.03.2013 11:08) I disabled System Watcher, already had it limited to 1MB after watching what the Pure3 RC did with that module (100MBs).Pure3 RC ate up Kaspersky "fixed" the issue, but now I'm worried that it has deleted/changed files that were working correctly.Btw, what does MVPS stands for? But to be honest, I have never *felt* it to be a necessary thing. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/52234/mvps-hosts-file-update-05-10-06/

It is now deleting it before I log onto the net and doesn't even inform me of a detection, I have to search the detailed report to find what it's done.

So no, this has not been solved for everyone, maybe those with current 2013 KIS, I updated twice in the last couple of hours and still this issue persists.Doop+1I too don't but it´s richbuff´s advice. After important changes/modifications it´s always a good idea to reboot the system.Glad you´ve solved your problem. the HOSTS file installs with no issues ... As far as I know, the only program that editet the hosts file is Spybot S&D Doop 15.03.2013 17:29 Experiencing the same issue since this morning.

I think it have something to do with latest detection database and i'm just guessing Pls fix this. Nothing has been solved, and Kaspersky's inserted lines are a joke for those who need blocking sites via the HOSTS file.I use KAV 2013. I've been using the mvps hosts file for years without any problems from Kaspersky. (I use the mvps file found here: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm).I compared my HOSTS file with a backup, and no I have used them for > years as a backup.
