Once again, if your drive is WD I can recommend the official WD Data Recovery partners. Next you could try uninstalling your usb drivers in device manager and reboot. (youll loose control of any usb device plugged in before the reboot). Verify the problem isn't the USB port by trying a known working port.When the drive was giving you problems but showed in Device Manager, where in Device Manager was it listed?
